Overhead Crane Consulting, LLC is a company that specializes in crane engineering, consulting and forensic expert witness legal services. OCC is owned by me, D. Larry Dunville, with degrees from the University of Notre Dame (1975) and Harvard Graduate School of Business (1988). For over 35 years I owned Dearborn Crane & Engineering Co. Dearborn Crane designed, fabricated, serviced Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Gantry Cranes, Monorails and Hoists. Our experience included both electric overhead traveling cranes as well as pneumatic and hydraulic solutions. We also designed and built manual controls as well as automated computer controlled systems. As a second generation owner of Dearborn, I started out working summers learning how to actually build and install cranes. After graduation from Notre Dame I developed a computerized bidding/engineering program, obtained a material handling Patent, and served on AISE Subcommittees #6 & #13, that write the overhead crane specifications for the steel industry.I sold Dearborn Crane in 2012 and no longer have any involvement in the company.
