The Lake Erie Marine Trades Association (LEMTA) was originally established in 1957 by a small group of boat dealers with the aim of organizing a significant indoor boat show for the Cleveland market. Over the years, it has evolved into the Ohio Marine Trades Association (OMTA) to better serve its expanding mission and scope.The organization comprises a membership of approximately 100 entities. These members benefit from legislative advocacy, educational support, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the boating experience in Ohio. OMTA Membership encompasses boat dealers, marinas, watercraft manufacturers, clubs, financial entities, and other water-based organizations.OMTA annually hosts the Cleveland Boat Show, a substantial event drawing around 50,000 visitors, at the I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio during the winter season. In addition to this, OMTA organizes several other exhibitions throughout the year, including those in Catawba Island, Sandusky and Akron.
