The Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy in Belgium (HICDB) is a scientific non-governmental organisation with a core set of values aiming to foster dialogue and nourish exchange and mutual inspiration between Greece, Belgium and the rest of the world. Through networks, cooperation, exchange of know-how and best practices we aspire to create cultural and societal value. Our work is founded on a broad conceptual platform that embraces art, science, education, culture and society; within those areas and with a dialogue-based approach, we work for new ways of cooperation, innovation, co-creation and communication.We develop and deliver activities that aim to serve and advance Hellenic culture and promote its Cultural Products (Heritage, Arts, Cultural Industries etc); to raise awareness regarding the role of cultural diplomacy; to educate and support the professional development of individuals within the cultural diplomacy discipline; to highlight the EU funding opportunities to the Hellenic culture creators and professionals; to create synergies between Hellenic, Belgian and international cultural creators and operators; to conceive and initiate conferences, seminars, public discussions, publications, exhibitions and research related to the Institute's aims.We envision contributing to the image and redefinition of the contemporary Hellenic culture; liaising Hellenic cultural diplomacy between the Ministry, the Institute and a wider pan-European audience; connecting professionals and bridging the triptych ‘Global-Local-Glocal', which definitely fits to the context of City of Brussels at first let alone Belgium.
