Girl to Woman has been developed to create more awareness about the social and cultural pressures that girls face as they make their journey into womanhood, as well as the pressure that women face just for being a woman in the world today. The Girl to Woman Project aims to break down the perception of what we think a woman should be and encourages girls to find what feels true and right for them. It allows them to just be themselves in a world that is telling them otherwise every which way they turn. G2W offers programs to provide education, relevant information and opportunities for girls and the wider community, including parent discussion groups, health and wellbeing programs and school holiday programs. Our major community event is the Girl to Woman Festival which is currently held annually in Northern Rivers, NSW and Tenterfield, NSW, with a view to reach other major cities in 2018. The Girl to Woman Festival celebrates and honours girls and women of all ages. It offers a wide range of activities, workshops, performances and discussion groups.This event is an amazing opportunity for whole families to come together, to appreciate and connect. It's a special day for all generations of women and the men that love and support them.Focus is given to fostering the natural grace, wisdom, inner strength and preciousness that all girls hold, with space also provided to learn about the pressures girls and women face in the modern age.As members of the community, we have the privilege of supporting our girls and young women to remain confident and strong within themselves. When we do this, the whole world benefits.
