Geoscientists Canada is the national organization of the 10 provincial and territorial regulatory bodies that govern Canada's professional geoscientists and geoscientists- in-training. Geoscientists Canada co-ordinates development of high national standards of admissions, competency, practice and mobility to ensure that Canada is served by a skilled, versatile, reputable and accountable geoscience profession.In Canada, geoscience is a regulated profession. To practice, a geoscientist must register as a P.Geo. and get a licence from the regulatory body – professional association – in each province or territory in which they practice. Geoscientists Canada is the national organization of the 10 regulatory bodies that govern Canada's more than 10,000 Professional Geoscientists (P.Geo.'s) and more than 2,000 Geoscientists-in-training.
