Friends of Rescue (FOR) is an all-volunteer, non-breed specific, non-profit animal rescue organization. We are committed to protecting and advocating for companion animals in need and building a humane community that values the lives of companion animals, promotes compassion, and seeks to strengthen the human-animal bond while also reducing the number of homeless and neglected animals. Our goal is to end the suffering of unwanted animals in North Alabama by providing them quality medical care, interactive foster care in a home environment, training, and committed forever homes. FOR is based in Huntsville, Alabama with volunteers and foster homes throughout the Tennessee Valley and surrounding areas that support our mission. Our foster animals live with foster volunteers in their homes- with their families and pets, where they can decompress and learn to be part of a family- until adoption. We do not have a shelter facility to house our foster animals.
