Friends of Calcutta is a totally voluntary organisation which since 1994 has had the honour to be very closely associated with the ongoing humanitarian work which makes Calcutta (now known as Kolkata) so special. From very humble beginnings through the gathering together of returned volunteers in Fermoy,Co. Cork in 1994, to raise funds for Sr.Cyrils' much needed night shelter for vulnerable girls; our organization has grown to today funding many projects which serve the most marginalised, both in the Kolkata and throughout the state of West Bengal.
