A Voice for Children The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program is committed to the protection and healing of abused and neglected children who have been placed in foster care and referred to us by the courts. CASA appoints a trained volunteer (called a Guardian ad Litem). CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge and are charged charged with the responsibility of researching the child's background and reporting those findings to the court. Some of the responsibilities of the advocate are to review records, research information and talk to everyone involved; social workers, attorneys, parents, teachers, family members and, of course, the children themselves. Volunteers then present their recommendations to the court as to what they feel is best for the child, assisting the judge to make sound decisions about the child's future. Our Mission: Is to recruit, train and support a diverse network of dedicated Guardian ad Litem CASA volunteers to represent abused and neglected children for the communities we serve.
