They are made in the United States by a highly reputable manufacturer of fire safety equipment and designed by actual firefighters.What kind of material are they made from?These pouches are constructed of "HOT-STOP" a fabric that withstands temperatures as high as 1200 degrees Fahrenheit and has a 2080 degree Fahrenheit melting point. (Typically, a normal building fire "vents" itself at 1200 degrees and once the fire in an involved room has vented, it will burn at only about 600 degrees.)Has the fire proof fabric been tested?Yes, through rigorous testing the metabolized aluminum surface has been proven to be the most effective flexible barrier for stopping radiant (infrared) heat. The mirror like surface reflects radiant heat away, rather than allowing it to be absorbed by the fabric. The mirror like surface of these pouches are extremely efficient, reflecting off up to 95% of the infrared heat present in a typical residential fire. In fact the very same proprietary fabric is used to make the fireproof rescue bags that many firefighters use.Our dual mirror system incorporates a proven five-layer of aluminum, protective film, a second layer of aluminum, heat stable adhesive and base fabric HOT-STOP ‘L'.
